The quilt show was great! A lot of work but fun! I so enjoyed working with everyone and getting to touch some amazing quilts. Too many to pick a favorite for sure.
On Wednesday we all pitched in and in no time we had the place set up. The woman who have done this for many years sure have it all down to a science. Very organized and smooth going. A few husbands where even there to pitch in.
Wednesday late afternoon and thursday morning quilters and some non quilter who just love to display thier family quilts started to drop off and register their quilts to be displayed. I was enjoying helping to register them. It was awsome to get to touch these beautiful works of art. All different types of styles. Some trditional some modern but all very beautiful and some very loved each with history and each telling a story.
The quilt below belongs to a Linda Mcglothin. Her quilt tell story about hobos. Her quilt was a round robin quilt, which is where a small group of woman take turns adding a border on and the owner dosnt see the quilt till everone has had a chance to add on a border after the owner first creates the center block.
This was my first show to ever take a part in or display a quilt in. I cant explain how good it made me feel to walk though these wonderful examples of many different styles of beautiful quilts and see mine hanging. To see people taking the time to stop and look at mine and even take a picture. I didnt win anything but this alone was my reward.
